Larnaca is a beatiful area of Cyprus.  It is ideally placed to get to all the major towns and cities including Oroklini (popular with commuters) and Nicosia.

Cyprus has seen a change in property demand in recent times, and this also applies to the area of Larnaca.

In the first half of 2009 property prices fell as demand dropped. The global economy struck the area, with over seas buyers either not buying or seeking properties elsewhere. Several UK owners who had property in Laranca as a second home / holiday home decided to sell up to make ends meet.

The increased number of properties for sale and lower demand means that for those looking to rent a flat, villa or house in Larnaca, the timing has never been better.

In 2009 property prices stayed high. In such a desirable location why wouldn’t people still want to buy and be willing to pay the price. In actual fact, this is unrealistic - owners were tending to ignore the global recession.

Eventually you would start to get some special offers, such as free air conditioning, but this wasn’t enough and so some prices have been cut by an impressive 30%.

What does this mean to you? It means you probably have the best choice of property in Larnaca at the best prices it has been for a long time. Anybody who has the funds available, or can raise the money to buy / rent a property in Cyprus should do so now, and Larnaca offers some fantastic properties.

Larnaca is known for its picturesque sea front, which is host to a festival in the summer, and closed to traffic at night for around 3 weeks. Near the airport in the winter, you will see flocks of flamingos until about March, when the Salt Lake Area dries out.

For those of you who like history, Larnaca has plenty, with old churches, a fort which is now a museum, and if you like to dig a little – literally – you are likely to uncover some evidence of former civilization there.
